This album is perfect to me. Nora Brown is one of my favorite musicians, and this my favorite album from one of my favorite musicians. This album has no "meh" songs. I love the mix between fretless nylon string banjo and traditional fretted steel string banjo. There is also a great mix of instrumental fiddle tunes and songs. This is my weekend relaxation album, of which I must admit I own two physical copies in case one wears out.
Jake Zerxes Fussel: Good and Green Again/Jake Xerxes Fussel
This duo revives many-a traditional tunes with modern musicianship, similar to Jake Xerxes Fussel. For an multi-media art experience listen to Anna and Elizabeth's version of Golden Willow Tree. They have a tapestry accompaniment that corresponds with the song. Compare this with Jake Xerxes Fussell "Golden Willow Tree"
Nothing stirs the soul quite like an Appalachian murder ballad. Old time music is great! I enjoyed reading this, thank you!
Any favorite albums? I'm a huge fan of old time and Appalachian folk in general—actually I'm a fan of any variety of Americana.

This duo has multiple albums based on traditional Appalachian and English ballads. These two were a part of the early American folk revival.
As the series continues I will build a recommended listening playlist incorporating these examples. Thanks for reading!
Just made it though all these! Great suggestions! Will definitely be enjoying some of these for a while.
